Prime Fed on hardcourts was untouchable while a prime Nadal on clay is virtually unbeatable. Fed would have the definite edge on Rebound Ace at the AO considering they were much faster than Plexicushion courts which is today both slower and has a higher bounce, that is why Nadal will still win a decent amount of times over Fed at the AO. French Open, Federer while still a formidable clay court opponent but a prime Nadal easily beats priume Fed on hardcourts but I can see Fed at least pulling through once. Wimbledon is a favorite for both guys, Federer gets the edge considering his history at SW19 while Nadal still gets a decent number of slams since he too has an impressive record on grass and has scored impressive wins. US Open is Fed's turf, during his prime the fast hard courts were his domain. Nadal will scrape away with one most likely two instances of victory over prime Roger
It will be Nadal because even in his prime, Federer has never really put him away easily. Another factor is the mental aspect. Nadal plays him without fear or awe on the court (compared to most others).
Skill wise Federer is definitely superior shot for shot. But in the end Nadal picks Federer's game and tactics better than other players and has enough firepower and variation to keep Federer from pulling away. That plays on Federer's mind, having to play 2 extra shots than normal, and the trouble he has of picking some aspects of Nadal's game and this goes on till the match is over, so mostly as we have seen, he cracks a bit. Not to say Federer is not tough, he is tougher than most players. Only Nadal is just a little more hard headed than him.
I honestly think Nadal would win 3-2 or mayb a tie braker, butfederer would lose it eventually i mean, hes great cause hes always calm cause hes always on top but watch his match agains djovich when he was down near the end of the match he started to get frustrated whereas nadal plays each point as if it were the last one and he never loses his cool
i think id give the slight edge and favour to nadal considering his head to head is better.. he appears to be in much better shape.. and is willing to grind it out with more defense..
id say nadal...hes just got more fight in him..
as well nadal was able to win against federer.. even when fed was peaking
the head to head record is mostly Roger's Mental problem
nadal is never ever as good as federer not even close in their primes , Roger loose to himself because of his unforced erorrs and his mental problems...
