  • x=51 the goal is to first set x equal to a number first you would add 13 to each side which would give you 17=1/3x next you want to solve for x which you would multiply by 3 would would make the 1/3 get canceled out (3)17=x

    which gives you the answer of x=51

  • Move the 13 over to other side by making it opposite (adding)

    4+13 = 1/3x

    17 = 1/3x

    Now get rid of the /3 by making it opposite on the other side (multiplying)

    (17)(3)=x

    x=51

  • 4=1/3x-13

    4+13=1/3x

    17=1/3x

    multiply both side by 3

    x=51

  • 4+13=1/3x

    17=1/3x

    (3)17=(3)1/3x

    51=x

  • 4=1/(3x-13)

    By cross multiplication,we get

    12x-52=1

    => 12x=1+52=53

    =>x=53/12

    If however,the equation is 4=(1/3x ) -13,then the solution is

    4+13=1/3x

    =>17=1/3x

    =>51x=1

    =>x=1/51

  • 4= 1/3x - 13

    -1/3x = 13 - 4

    -1/3x = 9

    x = -1/3 (9)

    x = -3

    Answer = -3

  • 4=(x-39)/3

    12=x-39

    x=51
