Here are some items I'd recommend:
- case or gig bag if you plan to take it anywhere - I like a sturdy gig bag with backpack straps because I have to carry my amp, guitar, and big bag of music and foot pedals when I travel, but a hard-shell case will protect the guitar better.
- guitar stand (so you can leave it on the stand and play it as often as possible). A lot of people say keep them in the case, but I keep mine out and play them all the time!
- electric tuner: I recommend Korg CA-30 or a Snark clip-on tuner - both are very accurate and relatively inexpensive
- picks - I use the gray Dunlop Nylon .60mm picks because they don't break and have a non-slip grip. I like that weight buy you might want lighter or heavier picks
- extra strings - I'd recommend D'Addario light gauge electric guitar strings, but you might find others you prefer (like picks, strings are a personal preference thing).
- strap - I like the Dunlop nylon strap for price and value. Doesn't slip, has real leather ends so the holes don't stretch out.
- strap locks (optional) - these have replacement strap buttons and a device that bolts onto the holes on the strap and then you can just snap the strap on and off the guitar. Nice because you won't ever drop your guitar because the strap came off the button.
I assume you have an amplifier, but if not you'll need one of those and a good shielded instrument cable as well. Then you might also invest in some effects pedals at some time in the future once you learn to play.
Buy some lessons or lesson books at least.
All that is one of the reasons a lot of people start out with an acoustic guitar!
Oh, and since it has active pickups you might as well stock up on 9v batteries! Should have got passive pickups which don't require batteries and sound better anyway, but it's too late for that now. If you like metal you'll probably like the active pickups. Just remember to pull the cable out of the guitar when you're not playing it or your battery will run down.
