ok so im doing algebra and we have a problem thats: -y = -3.9
would y equal -3.9?

im only in algebra 1 so im doing good considering i understand 18 out of 20 problems

it does not equal -3.9 because you have to get rid of the - in the y
so what you do is divide both sides by -1 because there is no other number in front of the y
so a - divided by a - would be a +
so therefore it is 3.9
no u would have to divide both sides of the equation by -1 so the -y becomes a +y so it wud b +3.9
y equals 3.9.
Change y to a positive and change what equals y to a positive.
