Does this sound like a particular mental illness?

Ever since I was twelve, if a girl didn't like me, I would threaten to commit suicide in order to get her attention, then end up pushing her away because of my craziness. Does that sound like anything in particular?

  • Hi,

This is just one type of behaviour that you are telling us about. This is not enough to say you have a mental illness. We also don't know what you mean by "my craziness". I just think that you were too young to know how to cope with rejection so you used a form of manipulation in order to not be rejected.

However, this is a trait that is evident in a particular mental disorder. You would need several other traits to be diagnosed though.

If you still behave like that have a look at this website and see if you have any of the other traits.
