sleep paralysis? nightmares? HELP?

sometimes at night ill drift off into sleep and seems that as soon as i do i lose control of my body, i have the feeling of not being able to move, or scream, and i feel like im floating up to the ceiling but its like im out of my body, and watching this happen, literally watching my body float to the ceiling but from above? if that makes sense, sometimes its slightly different, its really scary, sometimes it happens more than once in a night so im too afraid to fall asleep, luckily it hasnt happened for a couple monthes but i was just curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or knows what this could be? any information is appreciated, im only a teenager if that makes any difference. 10 points for best answer!

  • Sounds very familiar, and normal.

The inability to scream is an expression of your frustration with not being able to voice what you want when awake. You cannot control the world around you -- maybe you get bossed around by teachers, maybe family doesn't listen to you as much as you want. When you dream, you replay this by putting yourself in a vulnerable position and then paralyzing yourself.

If the analysis is correct, what you can try to do is get more control. Tell your family what you want. Demand, in a nice way, to be heard. If it's seriously problematic, find a therapist to talk to who can listen to all your problems and help you.

    Good luck.

  • Shows depression and frustration in real life. Also seems to be hyper sensitive
