Why do you see orderly shape a galaxy, despite....?

Despite the further side of the galaxy is a few thousand light years away, but you got the picture of the whole thing, as if all light started out that you see at the same time.

Is there any acceptable answer other than only God knows?

  • Are you asking how we get those nice neat pictures of our galaxy? We haven't actually taken a picture of it, since we're in the middle of it. Given that it would be reasonable to wonder how we can tell what it looks like from the outside. Basically it's like how you would know roughly what you look like if there were no such thing as mirrors: you'd see people around you and know you were one of them. You would get a closer idea through a few tricks: you'd know if you were male or female, you could see your skin tone from looking at your body, you could feel how long your hair is and whether it's curly or straight, etc.

Astronomers have seen several different types of galaxies out there: spiral, barred spiral, globular, etc. They've observed the bulge of the center of our galaxy, so they know it's a spiral of some sort. They've also spent an *awfully* long time looking around at the stars in our galaxy, figuring out how far away each is and what direction and speed it's traveling (so they know where a given star would be today if they could see it real-time). So they've worked out pretty much what it looks like and can make up an image that looks about right.

  • Your view of the galaxy is not distorted (much) by the light travel time across it, because all of the matter in the galaxy has a velocity that is much smaller than the speed of light.

The speed of light is 300,000 km/s, and typical velocities of stars and gas are less than 300 km/s.

Therefore, the far side of a galaxy will not change much (only 0.1%) in the time it takes for light to cross to the other side of the galaxy.

In the case where a galaxy emits high-speed jets roughly towards and away from us, there is in fact a big difference in how the jets look because of relativistic effects.

  • Yes, Conservation of energy, mass, and momentum. God IS physics.

Only God knows is the answer of an ignorant person. Being ignorant is not a sin, but it is if you do nothing about that ignorance when it is pointed out to you.
