Why does my left bra strap always fall?

Seems like every winter I encounter a weird issue... my left bra strap always falls. No matter how tight or loose I make the strap, it always falls. No matter what bra! It's totally annoying. Anyone have anything similar or a solution aside form stapling it to my chest? :)

  • Two reasons.

The first may be because your left breast is smaller (like a previous poster said), so your breast isn't filling up the entire cup, the fabric of the cup may have some wrinkles in it and because it's not full, the strap is going to be loose. For a remedy, if you have the money you can get your bras custom made to fit both breasts evenly. You can get some quilt batting, differen't from fiber-fill - the stuff used in pillows. Batting is flattened and comes in a roll. You can make a 'cookie' as they call it out of this to fill the cup in. Or you can tighten the left bra strap more.

The other reason may be because the band is too loose. But you would notice problems with your left strap as well. When the band is loose it rides up your back which loosens the straps which causes the breast tissue to pull on the straps because they're not being supported well. The remedy for this is tighten your back band or go down a band size, and increase the cup size. Example, a 36B would become a 34C.

  • Both of my straps fall, it is weird. The bra could be worn out? My mom said because I'm a big chested girl they wear out fast. I'm looking for new bras now, but I can't any of the ones I want. Sucks doesn't it?! haha

  • I have the same problem!! Only its my right not my left.. It's actually because my right boob is smaller than my left.. Because of that i buy my bras to the size of my smallest boob... That way it fits on the smaller one perfectly, and is a little tight on the bigger one... Just make the strap looser on the bigger side... they will look even so don't worry. You don't want one side to be looser than the other, it will look so uneven. You want them to be tight so you look like they are completely filled out.

  • I think bra manufacturer make this size difference for those women who like this style to attract poeple after setting the strip every time.

  • It could be that you shoulders are slightly different heights. I had that problem with my shoulder pads in football. On games films you can see me constantly shifting them. For me though it was caused by me prefering to hit with my right shoulder. Just a thought.

Of course, as long as one is falling, you might as well let the other. We promise not to look :-P

  • Must be the cold of winter. In all humor, I can't seem to fill my shorts that time of year either. That too is embarrassing.

  • Do you slouch on that side maybe? I was just talking to friend and she says that happens when she horseback rides and she slouches.

Also is that the same side you carry your purse on? If so swap sides for a week and see what happens.

  • try a cross over bra. sometimes when you hav anrrow shoulders this happens, or maybe in the winter you slouch more ?

  • have no left strap everytime you wear bra, i mean permanently so it wont bother you again

  • it's actually a vibration problem.

Your heart is on the left side and shakes it all the time.

You are just going to have to put up with it and hope no one looks.
