6th Grade Algebra Math Problem. Help Me!?

Hi. Please hel me with my Math homework! It's so hard! Thank You!!!

I made one. I think it's right. The answer should be like this:

The quotient of a number and seven is 27. Find the number.

-Let x be the other number

equation: x÷7=27

x+17(7) = 189

189 is the other number.

The answer should be like that. I'm so freaaaaking out. My mom is busy at work so she can't help me. I guess no one is available in the house to help me :(

1) 4 times a number is 3 times the difference between 25 and a number. Find the number.

2) The sum of 2 numbers is 15. One less than 3 times the smaller is equal to the larger. Find the numbers.

3) The sum of two numbers is 21. Find the numbers such that one number is 3 less than the other.

4) One number is four less than another. What are the numbers if their sum is 20? What is the number?

  • 4x = 3(25 - x)

    4x = 75 - 3x

    7x = 75

    x = 75/7 OR 10 5/7

    Answer 1: 75/7 OR 10 5/7 is the number.

    --------------

    1st equation—smaller number (y) in terms of larger number (x):

    x + y = 15

    y = 15 - x

    2nd equation—larger number (x):

    x = 3(15 - x) - 1

    x = 45 - 3x - 1

    4x = 44

    x = 11

    Smaller number:

    = 15 - 11

    = 4

    Answer 2: 11 & 4 are the numbers.

    --------------

    Larger number—x:

    x + x - 3 = 21

    2x = 24

    x = 12

    Smaller number:

    = 12 - 3

    = 9

    Answer 3: 12 & 9 are the numbers.

    --------------

    Larger number—x:

    x + x - 4 = 20

    2x = 24

    x = 12

    Smaller number:

    = 12 - 4

    = 8

    Answer 4: 12 & 8 are the numbers.

  • For your example: the quotient of a number and seven is 27. Find the number.

    it is

    x/7 = 27

    x = 27(7)

    x = 189

    1.)

    4x = 3(25 - x)

    4x = 75 - 3 x

    7x = 75

    x = 75/7

    2.)

    x = smaller number

    3x - 1 = larger number

    (3x - 1) + x = 15

    4x = 16

    x = 4

    substitute x

    4 = smaller number

    12 - 1 = 11 = larger number

    3.)

    x - 3 = 1st number

    x = 2nd number

    (x - 3) + x = 21

    2x - 3 = 21

    2x = 24

    x = 12

    substitute x

    12 - 3 = 9 = 1st number

    12 = 2nd number

    4.)

    x - 4 = 1st number

    x = 2nd number

    (x - 4) + x = 20

    2x - 4 = 20

    2x = 24

    x = 12

    subsitute x

    12 - 4 = 8 = 1st number

    12 = 2nd number

  • 1)

    let x be the number

    4x = 3( 25 - x)

    4x = 75 - 3x

    7x = 75

    x= 75/7

    2)

    let x be the smaller number

    x= smaller number

    3x -1 = larger number

    3x - 1 + x = 15

    4x = 16

    x= 4

    3)

    let x be the smaller number

    x= smaller number

    x+3 = larger number

    x + x + 3 = 21

    2x +3 = 21

    2x = 18

    x = 9

    4)

    let x be the smaller number

    x+ smaller number

    x+4 + bigger number

    x + x + 4 = 20

    2x+ 4 = 20

    2x = 16

    x = 8

  • 1)

    4x=3(25-x)

    4x=75-3x

    7x=75

    x=75/7

    Number is 75/7

    2)

    3x-1=15-x

    4x=16

    x=4

    15-4=11

    The nos are 4 and 11.

    3)

    21-x=x-3

    24=2x

    x=12

    The nos are 12 and 9

    4)

    x-4=20-x

    2x=24

    x=12

    Nos are 12 and 8

  • equation: x÷7=27

    x+17(7) = 189

    x=189-119

    x=70

  • a million. permit the form of hours they each and each worked equivalent "x". (In Algebra, you would be working with variables particularly.) So, in analyzing the challenge, you will have an equation that sounds like this: 8x + 33 = 9x. After doing the mathematics, you will come out with this: 33 = x. hence, final week, Nathan and Marissa each and each worked 33 hours. 2. back, permit "x" equivalent Kate's unique top. hence, your equation will look like this: 3x = .5x +147.5. After doing the mathematics, you will finally end up with this: x = fifty 9. So, Kate is fifty 9 inches tall. i desire this helps!
