Manual states 7.5 litres, but if you don't cycle it when drained it retains about 1.5 litres. Only the dealer has a dipstick, but you can get one for a few pounds on the internet. There is no drain plug so be prepared for a sleeve full and a dirty floor. You should also change the internal filter. Merc. used to do it at 30,000 miles and when they stopped many people had gear changing problems from 50,000 miles onwards cured by changing it.
