Blonde won't work, but the black will. It doesn't always come out on the first wash, though. I used the black on my son to make him Harry Potter for Halloween, and he returned to his natural color after multiple washes. I don't think it was very many, but I just want to prepare you in case it should take 3 - 5 washes to get it all out. It won't make your hair lighter, because it's layering color on top, and to go blonde you need to strip color from the hair. There are computer programs you can use to see what you'd look like in different colors, but it's certainly not as realistic. Holding up a hairpiece by your face (can find them at Claire's) would give you a bit of an idea if a color suits you.
