Do servers share processor, memory etc.?
When using a dedicated server that acts as a central hub to several computers/workstations, does the server provide processing power to the computers as well as memory, or does it only allow hard drive sharing? Basically, I want to know if the computers would need powerful processors solely dedicated to each computer or if they would feed off the severs power. thanks.

If the server is a file server it just shares files. That's the usual "server".
If the server "acts as a hub" it's a domain controller - it controls logging in, permissions, etc. It doesn't share anything.
Workstations each need their own memory and processing power.
