Essential Oils?

I know they have different brands of the oils and they range in price. So if I see a certain oil by the different brand range in price does that mean one is better than the other are all they thr same as long as it has 100% pure. Just wondering if the more expensive on is better or is it just the name brand

  • Not necessarily the same. The extraction methods may vary, the country of origin may vary and the standards of those countries on EO manufacture will likely vary as well. They may have different methods of testing for purity. And even if everything is essentially the same, same plant from same general area and same methods all the way down the line.....there still may be minute differences in the EO from, say, this lavender grown 50 miles east of that lavender.

So you'll want to read the processes that each company uses and check reviews for each before making a final decision. I totally agree with Tink, NOW and Aura Casia are both good brands.

  • The brand of essential oil is really not that important, the key is understanding what you are buying - this is true whether you are buying from a retail store or online.

This article titled "How to Choose True Essential Oils" http://www.essenceofwellbeing.com.au/How... should hopefully be of assistance.

With any purchase, whilst it can be very nice to grab a bargain, generally you get what you pay for. And that is never more true than with essential oils where the quality can vary widely. You should be able to feel confident about the quality of the essential oils and the company from which you are purchasing, not just that they are the cheapest. Most reputable sellers even those online should be knowledgeable about the oils they sell and will be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

    Hope this helps

  • Now Foods and Aura Casia are two brands that are readily available, very reasonably priced and perfectly fine to use. Both are checked for purity using gas spectrometery.

(Shhhh! I happen to know they ARE the same oils in different labels, and both were made by Frontier, so don't let anyone in a shop tell you that one is so much better than the other because the prices between those two vary, they are both perfectly fine)

  • The lower quality oils are generally cheaper. So it is depending on what you are using it for.
