How do I trap 3 feral kittens?

I posted this already but didnt get any real answers, except for "leave it to the professionals" so can someone give me good honest tips?

I know you might say "dont do it" or "leave it to the professionals" but theres a lady who is willing to pay me 300 dollars to do it, and I really need the money. She maintains a colony of feral cats and one of the cats had a ltiter of kittens, and she needs them trapped so she can take them to the vet. Shes tried doing it herself but the older cats wont let the kittens near her or the trap. Shes going to show me how to work the trap tomorrow and then leave it up to me. I know its risky, but I need the money. Does anyone have any tips? Anything I can use to lure them out? Thanks

  • I used to trap cats all the time and it shouldnt be a problem at all if she shows you how to work the traps. the traps i used were super safe metal traps, we would set it up and put a plate of food all the way in the back so that the cat had to step all the way in to step on the part that closed the trap. then we would run over and throw a towel over the whole trap to calm them down. NEVER open a trap just give it to the person your trapping for, if that cat gets out once she wont ever trust the trap to be caught again! when your trapping more than one cat its SUPER hard because they see the one get caught and dont wanna come near the trap, so have somthing super tasty and strong smelling in it ( we used sardines). also its tough to try and catch one cat at a time cause if one is following the other in it could get the cage closed on him! good luck!!!

  • I don't know how to lure kittens out ... without the cats following. Obviously, tuna would attract them. One thing ... the kittens can't run as fast ... if you get them all to come to you ... then make a loud noise (so they run) you may be able to grab the kittens. I don't think the trap will be helpful. Be Careful. Good Luck!

  • try disguizing (spelling?) the trap with stuff like leafs and twigs and put water and food inside to drive them in.

If you leave food out that might make them come too just don't leave any tuna or milk. These two things are very harmful to them .
