Is this a side effect?

I went to the Doctor's about a week ago. He told me I have some fluid stuck in my ear area's. He prescribed a nasal spray to drain the fluids out. It's "Fluticasone Propionate". After I use it, it takes about 5 minutes until I have snot/mucus/phlegm stuck in the top of my throat/nasal area. I am forced to spit, and spit, until I can get that out of my system. My question is...Is this normal for this nasal spray to do this? I'm worried, because I have had nasal spray's before, but never this type of reaction to one.

  • Fluticasone side effects:

Mild nasopharyngeal irritaion, nasal burning, stinging, dryness, rebound congestion, altered sense of taste

  • If the doctor specifically prescribed this nasal spray to drain excess fluid in your ears then it is not a side effect. How else do you expect to get rid of the fluid? Will it pull a houdini and vanish? This was meant to happen.
