Radeon 6870 to 7000 series?
Was wondering- If i upgraded my 6870 graphics card to a graphics card in the 7000 series, would I be able to play games like battlefield 3 on extreme graphics? I can currently play battlefield 3 on high quality with little difficulty.
Update:Also, my cpu is an amd phenom two, and my ram is 8 gigs.

Actually you must be able to play bf3 on ultra quality already. (at least without AA but rest of the settings can be Ultra). What's your CPU?Maybe it's inefficient for your GPU? (AMD Phenom II [But what is it? X2,X3,X4?])
And what do you mean by "with little difficulty"? Define it? I don't if you know or not anyway i'll explain; You can see your fps with a software called 'Fraps'.Run it before you open a game.
Also, your psu may not be handling your system? You didn't tell us what kind of psu you have? (I'm asking because it can cause performance issues if it's not efficient for your system)
You left out the details, like your CPU and RAM.
You'd also have to get one that's as least as good, if not better than your current card, which is already pretty high up there.
But since they aren't all out, you might find yourself locked into the extreme high-end instead of a direct replacement.
Edit: You're still leaving out the details, AMD's Phenom II covers a wide range, from the 2-core 500's to the 6 core 1000s, and your RAM isn't just a size, but a speed.
Also do check your PSU, to see what it performs at.
