How do I increase my vertical jump?

I am currently trying to increase my vertical so that I can out-rebound the people who are taller than me. I am currently able to tip my finger tips against the bottom of the rim. I am 5'8" at about 200 lbs. I am currently dieting to reach 175-180lbs. I have pretty big thighs and calves from football and wrestling. I was wondering if there were any specific exercises or stretches that would help. Also wondering how long it would take before I saw some results. Any information would be fine actually. Thanks for the advice!

  • Plyometrics. Ladder drills. box jumps 40m dashes, suicides, and alot of squats. You also need to lose A LOT of weight. At 5'8 200 you're way too short to be that heavy and still get rim. Flexibility is also extremely important as it gives you greater range of motion.

  • Jump higher

  • Do back squats 3x's every week. Works for me!
