  • It's okay, but if you read the Car & Driver test (or www.edmunds.com) you'll find the Pacifica is slow, doesn't get very good gas mileage, is overweight, too expensive, and not built very well. You would be better off with a Honda Pilot, Toyota RAV4(new one), Nissan Murano or Pathfinder or Quest, or Mazda.

    Good Luck.

  • As an owner of a 2005 Pacifica Touring AWD I can say that the Pacifica is a good car based on my experience. It is very safe. I believe it received the highest crash test ratings for its class. It is my only car and it is perfect for just quick errands or long distance travel. JeffyB's comment above about you being better off going with any of the Japanese vehicles he listed shows his bias towards Japanese cars. Plus he, car and driver and edmunds are wrong about those other points he listed. The Pacifica is not going to burn pavement but its not slow. I have no problem getting up to highway speed but I admit its sluggish with a full load. For its size and type of vehicle it is a great performer. Gas mileage is decent for a vehicle in its class. Not the best but not bad. It can be heavy, especially with the AWD but I wouldnt call it overweight. Go with front wheel drive with traction control for a lighter vehicle. They certainly are not to expensive when compared to the competition considering you can get a well equipt 5 passenger Pacifica for around $24,000. As for not being well built, totally false. My Pacifica is very well built, has excellent fit and finsh with tight seams and gaps inside and out and I have had no quality problems so far. Its a very high quality vehicle. So I suggest you test drive one and see for yourself and dont listen to the brainwashed masses who insist that Japanese cars are better. I highly recommend the Pacifica.

  • the Pacifica gets better mileage than a small SUV, and to clarify...costs more than a ford because it's a chrysler! if Mercury or Lincoln made an equivelant to the Freestyle, they'd cost more too. These cars are very nice, safe, and they should be mechanicaly sound for years

  • The Pacifica is Alright, but it is quite expensive, compared to The Ford Freestyle.

  • the exterior looks like an ugly duckling, but the interior and the drive seems prettty comfortable.
