Is a transmission flush necessary for a 2007 kia spectra?
I have a 2007 kia spectra ex with 86k miles on it. I took it in to a mechanic recently and he suggested a transmission fluid flush (the fluid does need changing). I've read conflicting opinions on transmission flushing. Some say its necessary, others say it can actually damage the transmission. I'm getting the fluid and filter changed tomorrow and I need to know if I should upgrade?

DON'T "upgrade". Get the fluid and filter changed. DON'T listen to the sales pitch of all your fluid isn't being drained because of the torque converter.
Do the filter and fluid change.
