I think there is a part of the story she is leaving out. A guy doesn't just hit you. Why were they fighting? If she is your girl, why weren't you aware of the problem before it escalated to this point. I think you need to ask more questions before you react. Let's say hypothetically- she was cheating on you, she will not tell you that part! Do you even know this guy? Encourage her to file a police report, if she doesn't, she is probably hiding something about this story.
dont go and beat him up, but if you know who he is, you should call the police. If she was bleeding and crying, he must've really beat her up, and he can be sent to jail for assault in that case. Keep her safe, and don't go and beat him up, because if you do that, he can report you to the police.
