Hey there!
I tried out for volleyball, but i unfortunatly didnt make it.
I was pretty good though.
I recommend that you find an open field of some sorrt and practice with some friends. Practice like setting and bumping the ball back and forth.
Keep your eye on the ball of course!
The same for soccer. Ive never played soccer, or had an interest to, but i think you could still use thaat open field to practice. running and protecting the ball are a must obviously lol.
But really practice passing to team mates and being tight and not sloppy!
(1) pick a sport that gives you immediate opportunities to play and practice. For example, volleyball would be a great sport to pick up if there are local players in a nearby school, rec center, gym or beach. A PE teacher could give you advice on options.
(2) go and find people who like to play the sport and are a bit better at it than you. See if you can jump in and play. Also, spend time asking the better players about how they developed skills. Many good players in different ball games do drills as focused ways to develop ball handling skills.
(3) try lots of options. The cool thing about being a kid and growing up is that there are sports for everyone. If you apply yourself to a bunch of different sports, you'll see some trends. Perhaps you'll see that you enjoy the flow and spark of field sports like soccer. You may develop better and better speed or endurance and enjoy running. You may get the hang of swimming and love time in the water enough to slowly develop swimming skills. None of this is about thinking -- all is about doing
(4) expect to practice to develop skills. Forget talent. Pick sports you enjoy and then work at them hard. Make practice play and make play practice.
(5) If someone tells you that your goals in sport aren't possible, find other people to talk to. They just mean that it's not possible for them, not for you.
