Periods After a Miscarriage?

okly dokly heres my little snippet story!

ok found out we had lost baby 3+1 weeks ago. didnt get rid of sac till went into a&e less than 2 weeks ago where i went into a sort of labour to expell the sac. sac was removed with a huge pair of tweezers and me heavily under the influence (of morphine what use it did i was p***ed as a fart but in pain still lol)

any who stopped bleeding just over 1 week ago and passed last few clots. tues had a blood streaked cm, bleeding wednesday and thurs on and off (barely deserved a pad for the amount i was losing) now im still bleeding on and off but its more like spotting with occasional heavy spells (again barey deserving of a pad) i was with the doc for a check up thurs and she told me to presume this was a period so i have been doing but i cant help but think this bleed is way to painless, light and early for af. i havnt had a single cramp as yet (well i lie ive had a few niggly cramps feels more like bad wind most of time)

well last part now lad

Update:

i forgot to say i was 14 weeks when we learnt of the loss but the baby was not in the sac any more. I have done 2 HPTs since and both negative but i have swollon ankles. :(

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, i was 7week when i lost my baby, i had to have d&c as it was a missed miscarriage, i bleed for about 5days after but then i didnt get my period untill 5weeks later and oh boy what a period it was i do normally have painful periods but this one bet them all, i also had heavy flow and clots.

I am due my next one on monday but hoping it doesn't come, either way i am gunna do a test tomorrow!

My dr never told us how long to wait so after my first period we started to try again, i think if you are ready to try again go for it x

  • Hey honey, just been through the same. It could take ages for it to stop. Some people have bleeding for a few days, others, weeks and weeks. I bled for 5 weeks, some of it heavy, some barely there.

Drink loads of water and excersise, that's what the midwife told me. And watch out for your next proper period, because it could be nasty. Mine was! Good luck, and i am sorry for your loss. I know how lost you must feel. X x x

  • After my miscarriage at 12 weeks I didn't bleed until a week later. Wasn't heavy or anything, just like a normal period would. Another month passed and my period was back to normal and regular. Dr's say that one should wait at least 3 cycles before trying to conceive again. Good Luck and nothing to worry about. Every woman's body reacts differently to different situations.

  • Check with your doctor!!! It's not that uncommon to have a period, regardless the flow, a month after you miss one. You need to call for an appointment and have a pelvic done... at the earliest time. The doctor might do an ultrasound.. but not sure. If it was a miscarriage you would know.... plus you would need to go in and have a D and C performed to clean your uterus out. Edit~~~~~Confused... tell your mom... she is going to find out sooner or later. She would rather hear if from you than the gossip channels in your neighborhood. Please tell you mom!!! She might get upset... but only for a short time. If I had a daughter who is in your condition, I would rather her come to me...and we could work this out together. Please tell your mom!!!! You know the test might have been wrong... have another test. Get a home kit and test yourself. :o) Do you want a baby right now?

  • It's just like you had a baby. When a women has a baby they bleed at least 6wks after having the baby. You body is reacting to having a baby you should stop spotting and bleeding no later then 6wks. I know this from experience you don't cramp or anything just bleeding. It's like having to periods.

  • Sorry to hear about your loss. I don't know, when I miscarried I bled very much and it was heavy and then it stopped. I got my period and it was a bit of spotting then a normal flow. Maybe you should wait a few days and see the doctor if you feel that is unusual.

I think it's your period though.

    Good luck with TTC!
