I buy and sell autographed baseball and football cards. I mainly concentrate on baseball. It's something I enjoy immensely and I have turned my hobby into a past-time that makes me extra money. Ebay's the best place to buy and sell...you can get some pretty great deals there.
I still buy cards but only baseball. I collect complete sets from Topps & have complete sets from 1980 thru 2007 & 75% complete sets from 1970 thru 1979 & only missing minor cards. I also collect cards from Topps Heritage becasue they are designing cards to look like the old topps cards from 50's & 60"s. I have all cards in baseball card boxes but stars in binders & each card is also in an individual sleeve too. Cards in binder include Jeter, A Rod, Jim Palmer, Seaver, etc & still have Bonds & Clemens too. I would estimate that my collection is around 35,000+ cards
I stopped a few years ago when I realized you'd pay $3 for a pack of cards and get 8 commons not worth a quarter total.
Then in a couple years, that pack of cards you can buy for a dollar and the cycle continues. They're overpriced and over produced. It's not fun anymore.
