APA how to quote a quote?

how would i in-text quote this in my paper (apa format):

President Obama called it “a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.”

This in itself is a quote derived from another article by Adam Liptak (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/22/us/politics/22sc...

Would this be correct?

"President Obama called it “a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.” (Liptak, 2010)"

  • When you have a quote within a quote, the single quote (apostrophe) is used. Example: My daughter told me, "Mother, my friend said to me, 'I really like your dress.'" You go back and forth between the regular and singular quote. If I were with you I could explain that better.
