powder vs concentrate?
so my twins (12 weeks old) are bottle fed. i make 52 oz of formula at a time and i make it once a day. i was using powder but this week switched to concentrate. it so much easier than counting scoops of powder! but why is it so dark? it is the same color as the ready to use formula they give at the hospital but the powder is so much lighter. does anyone know why? i am using the same brand...enfamil lipil
Update:New Mommy....they have slowed down a little. the 52 ounces last one feeding shy of 24 hours. but they went through more when they were younger. about a month ago i guess...they had a growth spurt.

It's just the difference of making it at home vs. them making it in a factory! I also switched at about 12 weeks, but I went from concentrate to powder (powder being cheaper). I found the powder to be a bit smellier than the concentrate!
i used the liquid sometimes wit my son and used the powder i also switch from enfamil to the parents choice walmart brand and the walmart brand was light but it's no worries the liquid is darked cause it's per mixed whereas the powder you mix ur self but both are the same and will not harm ur beautiful twins... i wish you all the luck and happiness with ur two blessings
Wow, I'm sure it's because of the preservatives. I can't believe you only go through that much formula, that is about what I go through and my twins are only 4 weeks old. My little piggies
I always used the concentrated. I tried the powder I got as samples or whatever but preferred the concentrated.
Not sure what the difference is...
Because the concentrate is canned, it contains preservatives to keep it fresh and usable. That is the reason it looks and smells different.
