How To Upgrade My Acer Aspire M1610 Processor?

hello, i am looking to upgrade my stock processor on my desktop(acer aspire m1610) which is an E2140 1.6Ghz Dual Core processor...i want to know if i can upgrade it to an E5500 2.8Ghz Dual Core processor and everything works fine?

  • IF THE SOCKETS MATCH UP, THEN POSSIBLY YES. THE best place to find this information is on the internet at the intel website. "http://support.intel.com/ ". I suggest this because the ram timings might not match, and the right information can be had for free from this site.

  • You have to look up your processor and see if it's upgradable, and if it is "what's the limit" while you're at it do the same with the memory. If you bought it new, and still have the paperwork it will tell you. If not go to the website of the computer, and it will tell you. You know you gotta put some thermal paste on it also.
