Is dyslexia a gift :D ?

I have Is dyslexia!

I am good at Art and using my Imagination (Daydreaming)

But what makes dyslexia a gift?

  • Go Google "gift" and "dyslexia."

There's lots of stuff out there, go research it.

"The mental function that causes dyslexia is a gift in the truest sense of the word: a natural ability, a talent. It is something special that enhances the individual."

    etc.

Oh, and FreeThinkers University has stuff on that, too.

One dyslexic I know of didn't do too well...he didn't seem to have any special talent, either.

His high school art teacher told him he'd never learn to draw.

Members of his high school fraternity voted him Least Likely to Succeed.

He was kicked out of college where he was the editor of the school newspaper.

He tried to write a book, but got rejected by publishers 27 times.

He was trying to study for a doctorate, but for some reason quit to become....a cartoonist, of all things!

You know him today as Dr. Seuss.

Yup. Nothing about the fact that your brain works the same way as these folks' is anything to be proud of.

Now stop thinking of yourself as something decent! Put those chains back on and acknowledge that you're inferior to everyone else, that you're disabled, that you belong in the discount dollar bin. You are defective.

You are not assimilated. You are not part of the collective.

    Thank Goodness.

Dylexia only matters during your school career. And the school career is small, plastic, restrictive and fake. The real world is big and bright and full of noise and music and art and emotion.

  • Dyslexia is nothing to be ashamed of but it is not a gift. Dyslexia is a reading disability caused by not being taught to read properly, which has nothing to do with your intelligence or artistic abilities.

  • ADHD is genetic and runs within the loved ones. You in most cases have ADD or disorders focusing. You do not need ADHD until you're enormously hyperactive with out sugar. Sugar might calm you down when you have ADHD. Talk in your surgeon first.

  • I have it and I love every minute of it. I've come to accept my disability. Also, I feel empowered because my SMOKIN' hott girlfriend does all of my Math homework for me. And I've got a GREAT mathematics teacher.

  • I am sorry but having dyslexia is nothing to be proud of. My little sister has it and one of my classmates and they don't have a special talent.

I am very good at drawing and I don't have dyslexia. Creativity and beeing talented is something you get and not because you have dyslexia, but I mean you do, so thats good for you!
