Do girls ever ask guys on a date?
Say she likes a guy, would she eer go as far as to ask him for his number? Or do girls mainly throw out hints instead?
To what extremes would the situation be before a girl does the askin?
If a girl liked a guy a LOT but he didn't do anything would she move on?

Drop hints. No girl in the right mind would ask a guy out. PLus, she'd feel special if a guy asked her. Girls almost always say yes when they are asked out, but guys almost always say no when they are asked.
Most girls throw out hints. Some don't do much at all. And the select few WILL ask a guy for his number or ask him out/make a move.
I personally am outgoing and I have asked a guy for his number and asked him out. I dropped a lot of hints and when I thought I knew for sure he liked me back, I flirt with him and playfully asked him out.
Not many girls have the guts I have. If you like a girl but you are shy, take the chance! You'll regret it more if you do not take the chance than if you did and missed the opportunity. And besides, if she doesn't like you the same way you like her, she'll be nice about letting you down...if she doesn't then you wouldn't have wanted her in the long-run anyway.
Usually, girls don't make the first move. Hints, hints, hints, though. We radiate hints and it's frusterating to us when you don't pick up on them. That's why girls go to the bathroom in groups: to gripe about boys. Lol jk.
Really though, it depends on the girl. Some might ask in an extreme situation, if she really really likes a clueless (in the sense of picking up on hints lol) guy won't ask her out, but most will just move on, sadly. It's very intimidating, needing to ask a guy. Actually, most girls get their friends to talk to the guy. It get's backwards and confusing sometimes.

Girls do like to be asked out that's for sure. They would just throw hints out. But like me, I don't always get the hint from a guy either!

Yes, I have asked out guys before. Yes, I've given guys my number, and yes, if I liked a guy and expressed my interests without a response from him, I would move on.
I wish they did... because I'm too shy to ask anyone out. I often wonder if I was born the wrong gender or something, because I certainly don't have the personality of the typical guy. I'm not gay or anything, but I still wonder.
I tend to move on if a guy I really like doesn't seem like he's ever going to ask me out. It's frustrating. If I knew for sure that he really liked me too, but he was just to shy to ask me out, then I might consider asking him. But if I'm not sure, then I just get over it, because it seems like he's not interested.
