how do you tranfser pictures from desk top to ipad 3? or any device?

i need to know how to add photos from my desk top computer to my ipad 3 to show others,

Save all the pictures you want into one folder, plug it into iTunes and click on your device and there should be something around there about photos. Click that and it says to choose a file, and then select the file with your photos and sync it to the ipad
