  • - convenience

    - it's a social venue where it's easy to talk with people during the meal, especially if it's not family

    - you might like a specific type of food where it's hard to get the ingredients for; where I live that would be stuff to make thai food as an example

    - many times restaurants have specials where the food is less expensive than if you made it at home

    - it's single serving in the sense that it's one order per person and what each person _wants_ to order, which is unlike your usual family meal at home

Mostly, it's convenience, though. It allows everyone to be served instead of worrying about serving and the big one for me is cleaning up afterward. Yes, Rachael Ray can cook a 3 course meal in 30 minutes, but she uses so many utensils and pans, it would take her like 3 hours to clean up everything.

  • People eat in restaurants so they don't have to cook at home. Restaurants often make portions larger than healthy, though.

  • To get fed.

    1. Service can be slow, don't be impatient.

    2. Just because it's a restaurant doesn't mean you'll enjoy the way they make certain dishes.

    3. Order dessert before dinner so you aren't to full after your meal
