Help with a quick algebra problem?
I'm working on simplifying expressions at the moment. I cannot for the life of me remember how to add fractions at the moment. =.= (It's been a long day...) So... What is 22/11 (twenty two over eleven) + 8? Please excuse my stupidity...

10.
(its fine i hate fractions to... btw i got this from google. just type the equation in.. it works! (: )
When solving addition of fractions, you usually change the denominators but in this case it is not needed as the fractions can be simplified then added.
22/11 = 2
8 = 8 (obviously)
2+8 = 10
haha wow must have been. to add or subtract fractions you need common denominators so you have 22/11 + 8/1
least common denominator is 11, so multiply the top and bottom of the second fraction and you get 22/11 + 88/11 , now u can add the numerators
110/11 and reduce, its 10
if you want to do it the easy way without fractions
22/11 = 2
2+8=10
that's a lot easier than dealing with fractions
