How many holidays do you celebrate?

we celebrate thanksgiving, christmas, persian new year, and halloween (we dont really celebrate that but i mean i eat lots of candy if that counts?)

  • New Years, Ramadan, the small eid, and the big eid (i never figured out which was which but i do know the stories behing them), halloween (but i get scared lol).

    Oh ya and Hanukkah (sp?).

  • The only ones that have significance for me are Easter & Christmas but we also have Australia Day , ANZAC Day, May Day ( Labour Day ) , the Queens Birthday , the Brisbane Show Day ...

    ANZAC Day is when we remember those who died in times of war ...it stands for Australia & New Zealand Army Corps & dates back to the landing on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey in WW1 ....a total disaster but it was a turning point in the life of our country.

    edit...For the benefit of my dear daughter below , the only birthday we celebrate as a public holiday is her brother's because it is on ANZAC Day !

  • We celebrate Australia Day, Easter, Birthdays, and Christmas....but we also have public holidays for the Queens Birthday, Ekka , Anzac day and Labour day....

    4th of july, labor day, oct 6th (egyptian natinoal holiday) are just days to relax or hang out or so but i don't really "celebrate them"

  • i know a teacher who is always at home so i guess every week we have like 4 or 5 holiday

    stike-demonstrations-road closed-salary increase-fuel increase- road works etc.......

    ohhh..exlude the weekends from above
