Xbox Controller Problem?!?

So I turned on my Xbox 360 controller and it just keeps flashing my console didn't even turn on, and when I turned on my console my controller wouldn't connect! I tried searching what was wrong but nothing works!! I have a another controller it works Perfect!! But I just don't understand!! HELPP PLEASEE! :)

    Its not synced to your xbox. On the front of your xbox there is a flap covering two usb ports with a button to the right of it. Hold that button at the same time as the one on the back of the controller battery pack for a few seconds and let go.

    360 always cause problems when i had one i stick to ps3
