Possible processor upgrade?
I've been considering moving up from my Pentium 4 631 processor to a dual core processor, probably the e7500. However, I still need to make sure it's compatible with the Intel D945GCL motherboard that I have. Last time i looked into something like this some guy told me I couldn't upgrade to a dual-core, but I checked on Intel as well as some other sites and they say that I can put in Pentium D or a Core 2 Duo, among other types. On the compatibility list supplied by Intel, the list only went up to the e6700, which is grossly overpriced, but I'm not sure if the list is up-to-date because it says that all support for the product has ended. This processor I'm looking at is fine as far as FSB speed, the socket type, and the processor series goes, so is it compatible if it isn't on their list?

It isn't guaranteed to be compatible unless it is on Intel's list.
Your mother board will support core 2 duo.
