Do colleges consider psat for admisson or scholarship?

i know that psat is a practice for the S.A.T. but does it really matter if you don't qualify for that psat but you do qualify for the sat.. when I apply for scholarship, will the good colleges also ask for the psat scores before they give scholarship?

I need the right answer, so no jokes.

Thanks

  • PSAT is used for National Merit Scholarships only. And the SAT is used for college admission and scholarships.

  • No. The PSAT/NMSQT is really just to qualify you for the National Merit Scholarships. I'm pretty sure colleges can't even see it. It should just be named the NMSQT. It didn't help me prepare for the SAT at all. I did horrible on the PSAT but did great on the SAT and still got scholarships.

  • It is not a factor for admission at all, but some colleges may use it to give some scholarship, though not necessarily.
