a word problem---math?

umm... I suck at math...

help a girl?

A confection mixes candy wich sells for 70 cents a pound with candy worth 94 cents a pound to make 120 pounds of a mixture that sell for 81 cents a pound, how many pounds of 70 cent candy did the confectioner use?

Comments

  • Let x be number of pounds of 70cent candy.

    70x + 94 (120-x) = 81(120)

    hence x = 35
