What eyeshadow primer do you prefer?

I have the NYX jumbo pencil in milk, i use it as a eyeshadow primer but was wondering is the urban decay eyeshadow primers even good? Between the NYX pencil and the UD primer which is better or are they about the same?

  • I love UDPP. I have oily lids and pretty much have to have primer or any shadow on me creases like crazy, and UD's is about the only primer that really will keep my eyeshadow looking perfect for over 8 hours. Without primer I end up with basically no shadow in a few hours, with cheaper primers I've tried I get perfect eyeshadow for 4 hours and then creasing and fading.

If you can wear NYX pencils as primer, I'd say you have dry lids, because those are basically grease paints in pencil form and not meant to act as primers. They are great cream bases for eyeshadow, but I have to use a lot of primer under jumbo pencils to prevent creasing, I couldn't use the pencils on bare skin if I wanted it to last. So UDPP might not be amazing for you if you're getting results from NYX jumbo pencils, you might not have enough oil on your lids to need a tough primer like UDPP. I'd drop by Sephora and ask for a few samples of Primer Potion and comparable products, see if you really see an difference using a real primer vs just a cream base.

  • The UD primer differently worth the money! Mine lasted a really long time because you really don't need much! I could be saying this because I have small eyelids and I also don't wear makeup everyday, but I do believe this helps. I have extremely oily eyelids and this makes my eyelids have a great base to start with and even doesn't crease throughout the day like other eye primers do! But that being said, it doesn't mean you need to get it. The NYX jumbo pencil in Milk work just as well. I do notice some creasing so I do have to UD primer underneath and it does change some of the shimmer colors into a sheen or matte, but it does make my eye makeup stand out. If you don't have oily lids or don't mind have a sheen or a matte eye, then you should just keep you money and not spend it on the UD primer. You can always wait until Sephora or the UB website to have a sale. Every year the Sephora has a 20% sale, so you can always wait til then.

  • I would say the Urban Decay Primer. I prefer it more, because for me at least, eyeshadow creases on me really easily, and the UD one helps keep your makeup on longer and prevents creasing from occuring

  • Hands down Urban Decay. it''s the only eye shadow primer I use. My eye makeup stays in place from when I put it on until I take it off at night.
