I'm going to be in Amsterdam while the parade is being held. Just wondering if its very crowded with people watching or not and if I should go myself just for fun to watch the parade? Anyone ever been to it and is it mostly tourists that go to watch or a lot of Nederlanders too?

The Gay Pride Parade is actually a lot of fun to watch regardless of what sexuality, gender or nationality you are. So yes, both tourists and locals come along to watch
Some of the boats that pass by are impressive (time/effort etc talen), others are just full of amazing people, and some.... well just downright amusing to be honest! All to be taken with a pinch of salt and it really is a lot of fun to see
Whether it is packed or not - well it does depend a lot on the weather to be honest, but normally it's busy, but you can always find a spot to either sit and watch on the side, or from one of the bridges
i think of it extremely is particularly ridiculous that military and cops take area in activities like gay satisfaction of their genuine means. it is so provocative in direction of different sections of society. For me being a lesbian is a private count and that i've got no ought to being pigeonholed as such. on the only hand we'd like equality and been considered as different electorate and yet by using indulging in such stupid activities the LBGT community stigmatise themselves. i became born in Rotterdam, nevertheless have the Dutch nationality, moved to the united kingdom while i became 7, yet does not dream of residing interior the Netherlands by fact there are too many flaws in society and it extremely is too cumbersome to flow bearing directly to the traditional way of existence whether you're rapidly or lesbian. I certainly have some darling compatible Dutch pals, nevertheless. kusje for you all.
It` s people from all over The Netherlands.
And also people from over the world.
If it is dry, or a mild rain - you can be sure to expect a lot of people.
Only in a steady downpour would it be quieter.. but only slightly.
Yes, it is busy, but busy is fun!
