History Assignment Canada Maps? British Columbia?
For my history project I have to look at two maps and Describe the differences. The first thing I noticed on the two maps of Canada was that British Columbia has more land in the map of 1867 than in the map of 1858. I have searched the internet and read my text book but for some reason I can't find an answer.
Why does British columbia have more land in the map of 1867 than the map 1858?

I'm not sure, but where is the extra land located? In 1858, was BC including parts of Washington or did it extend further north into the Yukon? Did the Charlottetown conference redefine the eastern border with Alberta? Comparing where the changes took place in the boundaries, should allow you to refine your search. Good luck.
