Less expensive pregnancy tests = less accurate?
I have gone atleast 5 weeks without a period. Possibly 6 or more.
This is strange for me.
I've also been feeling "weird". I've had symptoms like nausea, tender breasts, peeing frequently, a weird feeling in my stomach and an odd twinge sort of pain every now and again toward the left.
I keep feeling like i'm on my period, but it'll turn out i'm not.
I've taken a test though and it came out negative.
But i got the cheapest test available.
[I'm in a very low pay job, so a £1.99 pregnancy test or a £12.99 one is a BIG difference to me]
As far as i'm aware, i followed the instructions right [it's a strip of paper that you hold in the urine for so many seconds and then read a few minutes later].
So does anyone know if some pregnancy tests are actually a fair bit less accurate than others?
If i could be pregnant, the most i could be is about 3-4 weeks.
Is it worth me getting the more expensive test? or should i just trust the test i took and wait to see if my period does come?
Although i'm not sure how long to leave it before getting concerned.

you need to retest;
some test cant read your hormone levels if there low!!
get a first response or clear blue; if still NEGATIVE and no period;then get blood work done
best of LUCKK!!!!
i bought first response early detection which was $15 for 3 and then i bought 5 test from saveontests.com for $5...i test positive with a first response then i test negative the next day with a cheap one and so i was scared i tested again with a first response and it was positive...so i would just splurge...or wait longer to test with a cheaper one
the cheap test are great. they works just as well as the expensive ones and they can save you a lot. i used them and they we're very accurate and save us a nice bit since i tested a few times after, you know just to be sure. and each time they were right.
if you are 5 weeks late i recommend going to the doctor. chances are your pregnant, but either way still go it's not normal not to have you period. to answer your question go to dollar general and get a dollar pregnancy test it will work since your so late.
