How do you activate a digital tuner?

i've been trying to get the television to catch digital channels, but it hasn't caught any, i used to use an antennae, until analog got switched to digital.

could you lead me through step-by-step, that would help very much.

    First you need a digital to analog converter that has a built in digital antenna system or an external antenna. Or else you need cable or some other source for a strong signal. The typical $ 40 converter boxes didn't have built in antenna systems.
