new cobra police detector... turn off?
i just bought a cobra XRS 9545 police radar detector and there is no off button... it plugs into the cig lighter and it stays on when i shut my car off. i wanna no if it will hurt my battery, drain it, corrode my outlet, blow a fuse or anything. bc i no i will accedently leave it pluged in and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it...... will it hurt my car or overheat my radar detector????

1. The radar detector only pulls a very small amount of amps.....
2. If the vehicles battery is in good shape you wont have any issues....
3. The radar detector is internally protected against any type of overheating....
If you drive the car frequently, then it shouldn't hurt to leave it plugged in, but if the car is going to be sitting for several days, then it's best to unplug the unit.
