98 Honda Accord A/C Compressor Wont Engage?
I have a 98 honda accord EX and the a/c compressor wont engage. When i turn the air on an hit the a/c button i do not hear a click in the compressor or neither does the pulley spin.in 2007 i took it to a shop to get recharge with refrigerent, could be that its just low?.now i've read some answer on differnt post were ppl say that if the refrigerent is too low or out the compressor wont engage but they did not metion on what cars.if this is true how can i add more refrigerent if from what i understand the compressor has to be working in order to create preasure and be able to add refrigerent.Lastly i have a hose with a pressure gage on it,and when i hook it up to the low pressure line while the a/c is on it doesn't give me a reading it just stays at zero(0).
Update:Also the cooling fan on the radiator doesnt turn on.

first of all yes, every car has the low pressure switch on the a/c . its a safty feature. its there to protect the compressor from locking up. if you took it in 2007 for a recharge and it worked till now than there you go it just slowly leaked the fluid so all it would need is a recharge again.
the way to recharge the system is screw the hose on the can of refrigerant, connect the hose to the low side of the a/c lines. then turn the nob thats connected to the hose cockwise to perice the can. after you cant turn anymore, spin counter clockwise all the way (DONT NOT THE HOSE FROM THE CAN....THAT IS PRESSURIZED AND WOULD BE VERY DANGERIOUS) now the fluid will go out the can and into the a/c lines.
Now go and turn the car on, and turn the a/c to max. go back to under the hood and grab the can and hold it upright and turn to 3 O clock position back and forth every 3 seconds.if the fluid is going threw the can will feel really cold. at the end turn the can upside down to empty the rest. ( as the pressurized refrigent from the can goes in to the a/c lines the compresser will come on when there is enough pressure.) when done turn off the engine and disconect the hose from the a/c line. ( air will come out of it when you disconnect it so just point it down untill it starts hissing.)
also you should wear safty glasses and gloves its very dangerious stuff if you dont know how to work with it.
goo luck!
p.s it probably says zero on the gauge because you did no peirce the can and then turn back to open the hole.
regrettably, your vehicle is new adequate which you will need some intense tech gadgets to make certain what the undertaking is. it would desire to be low on freon, it particularly is an elementary and incredibly low priced restore. although, if the compressor is undesirable, then a professional would be able to tell. verify the belts and make effective they're ok. Have somebody verify the freon point. If the fuses are ok, and the belts are ok, then you definately undertaking starts getting extra intense and extra costly. If the fan change isn't working ideal then you definately would would desire to alter out the administration panel it particularly is incredibly easy additionally.
