What is a COSMETIC TRADE SHOW?

I was talking a women over email. And an automatic email came back and said that she'd be in Miami for the "Miami Beach Trade Show" from April 5th, and that she'd return on the 10th. What exactly is a trade show? I've looked it up on Google, Yahoo, Dictionary.com, even Bing (and I hate Bing!). But no one will give me a straight forward definition.

So if anyone knows what it is ...

And also, do you think that a trade show is a good way to get publicity for a new cosmetic brand? This may be a "no-brain-er", but I wouldn't know because I have no idea what a trade show is!

    Trade Shows are generally where brands go to promote their products and store owners and buyers go to see which products they want to purchase to then sell for their store. So yes if this was a cosmetic trade show, then that's a great way to give publicity to new or even popular cosmetic brands.
