why doesn't my computer power up?
Recently left my computer on overnight, woke up and it's not on. LED on motherboard was still lit, but no reaction when pressing power switch, just a high high high momentary pitch from power supply and slight twitch from auxiliary low power case fans. Jumped power switch connection on motherboard to rule out the switch, and same reaction of fans + high pitch noise. Bought a new power supply, connected it and no reaction from anything. LED on motherboard was still lit, and same twitch from case fans but no high pitch noise. Also unplugged all peripherals with both power supplies to rule out corrupt DVD-ROMs and hard drives, no change. looked for obvious burnt out components on motherboard and saw nothing. Next step?

Sounds to me like the power supply died while you slept.
Yea it sound like you power supply died sometime when that happens it can burn up other components in your computer you can go and have someone take a look at it or take it to best buy unless you want to go get your other computer and try each part in it till you see whats making your computer not work it is probaly your motherboard though
Motherboard probably took a ****. Just because you don't see it does not mean the MoBo is not dead.
Take the computer to best buy, or call Dell support. it is likely a hardware problem, hopefully
