  • You can read this tutorial about how to insert video from YouTube into PowerPoint file.

    Hope it helps!

  • Commonly there are two steps for you to put a YouTube video in PowerPoint

    (1) Download the YouTube video to your computer first

Download and save YouTube video as WMV or AVI format to your local drive using online conversion service or some software converter to do this.

You may download a FREE YouTube downloader to download your favorite video movies, which is also FLV converter that allows you to convert your FLV video to other formats.

Besides the tool above, here are some other recommended online converting websites. You may choose any one to work for you.

    (2) Insert the YouTube video to PowerPoint

Go to Insert -> Movie –> "Movie from file" to embed the YouTube video in the slide you want if you have PowerPoint 2007.

If you have PowerPoint 2003, select Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then click Movie from File.

For more details about how to do it, you can view this article:

  • that would be tough to embed a youtube video in your powerpoint.

no 1. it depends on what verson you have, you have to know how to embed flash video into powerpoint.

no 2. your school must not block youtube...most do :P

no 3. if you download the video...powerpoint only likes embedded AVI videos with an uncompressed codec. And if you convert to uncompressed AVI video its going to be literally gigabytes for even a short 1 minute video.

if you ask me i would just say have a powerpoint, minimize powerpoint and play the video outside of the powerpoint...

  • 2 ways to do that:

Method 1 Copy the Embed code of the YouTube video into PowerPoint presentation

Method 2 Convert YouTube videos to compatible MPEG, AVI, MOV or WMV for PowerPoint

You seem to take the second one. So you need to convert the YouTube video (FLV) to another video format that is supported by PowerPoint.
