Qualities for respect?

I was just curious to hear from people on the idea of respect. When having a conversation with someone or even with friends, what qualities do you look for when deciding whether or not to respect someone in general? If the person is caring and laid back yet they are nervous and struggle with conversations, do you have less respect for him or her than you would for someone who can talk yet their intentions are not always the greatest?

  • Everyone deserves respect. And if you are unable to respect one, stay away from them. For me personally, I would have a loss of respect for someone who has a lack of morals, ethics, deviant behaviors. Someone who is not a great speaker or able to express themselves is not a reason for lack of respect. I would have much less respect for the person with ill intentions and stay away from such. I don't go around individuals whose behaviors I can not respect. God bless****

  • Respect is tricky. I believe there are different levels of respect.

Most people deserve some respect until they prove they do not deserve it.

Then there is a kind of respect for persons you learn from like doctors or teachers (people with greater knowledge and you want them to teach you)

Then there is a kind of respect for parents or relative that you love and admire.

To me none of these have much to do with how well the person speaks or expresses themself - they have more to do with how you listen.

  • A respectful person always respects others.

  • Everyone is different. I don't loose respect for someone because of the way they talk. I loose respect for them if they talk disrespectfully to me and about me.

  • It should be kindness and maximum of all honesty. i ought to not care a lot less if human beings at the on the spot are not wise or not , i'm not the most stunning pencil interior the field.
