I need help doing this for my AHSGE

A. (3y+1)(y-2)^2

B. (3y+1)(y-2)

C. 3y(y-2)

D. 3y(y-2)^2

Comments

  • 3y(y-2)+(y-2)

You have a common factor to both terms, ie ( y -2). Therefore take that out and divide it into the terms

    (y - 2)(3y + 1)

The order of the two factors can of course be reversed

    (3y + 1)(y - 2)

    = ANSWER B
