Sims Three Registration / Serial codes?

I have the sims 3 from my cousin, but I'm confused with what the number is on the back of the booklet. First, it's five sets of four numbers each and it's on the back. What's the difference between the serial number and the registration code and where do I find both. Also, can you only use one per computer? Like Registration and serial number? Or...

    they're the same thing. when you register your game on ea's site, you enter the serial number so that if you lose the code, you can log in again to retrieve it if you need to install it on another computer.

    i think you can install the game up to 5 computers.
