  • Use a special tester that pumps air into the radiator. Any leaks will be visible.

    or,

Let it pressure test itself! All systems operate under pressure anyway, and it is regulated by the radiator cap. Just run the car until it gets hot, feel the top radiator hose and when it is hard you have pressure! Shut off engine and look for leaks.

  • Buy a pressure testing pump and the adaptors that go with it, attach the correct adaptor to radiator cap or expansion tank cap, and pressurize the system with the pump, watch for leak.

  • I pressure tested a few cars and I always went to AutoZone to rent the pressure testing equipment, and AutoZone lets you rent it for FREE.

BTW, a thermostat, does not, cannot, and will not test the pressure in the coolant system.

  • buy a pressure tester or have garage do it...any auto prts store has them ..from about 50 to 200 dollars...

  • By using a termostat my dad does all this stuff with his car
